Is this just for children?

No, we are ideal for families, couples and friends and provide an exciting interactive tour for all ages and interest levels.

How long does it take to go around?

The tour lasts around 45 minutes with time to explore our authentic archaeology section ‘The Dig’ at your own leisure. We also have a hands on room full of fun activities, dress up and photo opportunities.

Is it scary?

While we are in no way a scare attraction, younger guests may find parts of the show frightening due to our use of special effects. To get the most out of your experience we recommend the attraction for guests aged 8+.

Are there toilets inside?

Yes, these can be used before or after the show

Do you take English Heritage passes?

No

Why isn’t it free?

We are not a council run museum, we are independently managed.

Do you have real Roman remains?

Yes, we offer possibly the best remains in an attraction within the UK.

Is there a shop and cafe?

We do have a gift shop on site. There is no café, however we recommend the Rainbow Tea Rooms, just around the corner on Bridge Street.

What time do you open and close?

Up to date times can be found on the Visit page.

Can I leave my buggy or pushchair there?

We have very limited space at the entrance of the attraction where buggy’s and pushchairs can be stored. Due to the size of some rooms, during busier shows we would recommend leaving them behind unless you feel you may need them during the 45 minute experience.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes, although some corners maybe challenging for larger chairs and we may only be able to accommodate 1-2 wheelchairs per group. If you require assistance or would like to make a booking with multiple wheelchairs, please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate. Full accessibility details can be found on the visit page.

Where can I find details about school trips?

Please see our dedicated Schools page for all information and booking requests

What is Deva Roman Experience?

We are an exciting walkthrough experience where guests travel back in time to Roman Britannia and take on their own Roman adventure. With the use of theatrical storytelling, immersive theming and special effects, guests really get to see, hear, smell and feel 2000 years of history.

Can I enter at any time?

Yes, you can arrive anytime and you will be invited by your host to start your journey, part of the experience is led by the host and part is self-guided – You maybe asked to wait a few minutes before you start if we are busy and need a gap between visitors

What effects should I be aware of before booking?

Due to the nature of the attraction being as immersive as possible, during the experience you may encounter:
low lighting, theatrical fog, theatrical scent, water splash, sudden loud noises, flashing lights and projections.

What times do you open and close?

Up to date times can be found on the Visit page.

Can I bring my dog?

Whilst we welcome guide dogs and registered assistant animals, pets are not allowed to enter the attraction due to the numerous sights, smells and sounds that could affect them.
